Arrow Showrunner On What Fans Can Expect From The Next 4 Way Crossover

The stars of the “Arrowverse” have been teaming up for crossover events for a few years now, and last December they all came together to battle the Dominators in the epic “Invasion!” crossover event. Luckily the heroes saved the world from aliens, and now everyone’s wondering who they will be facing next time around.

“Arrow” and “Legends of Tomorrow” showrunner Marc Guggenheim recently spoke with EW, and Guggenheim noted that he’ll be sitting down with Andrew Kreisberg and Greg Berlanti to discuss ideas for the next crossover soon. He also noted that the bar was set pretty high with the Dominators last season, and they may try to increase the emotional stakes next time instead of trying to top the spectacle of “Invasion!” (via Heroic Hollywood).

“Every year we feel the pressure and I do feel like each crossover has topped the previous one. Topping last year’s [crossover] is a high bar, if for no other reason than what do you do that is bigger than aliens? We got some, I think, very, very exciting ideas. I would say, very early on in the process in actually doing last year’s crossover, Greg said that ‘there’s probably no way to get bigger than aliens’. So the best way to make this year’s crossover especially epic is, if you can’t increase the bombast, increase the emotional stakes and the emotional pay-offs. A very oblique comment on where our heads are at for this season.”

Who do you want to see the heroes face next time? Sound off in the comments below.

“Arrow” will return for season 6 in October.

After a violent shipwreck, billionaire playboy Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) was missing and presumed dead for five years before being discovered alive on a remote island in the North China Sea. He returned home to Star City, bent on righting the wrongs done by his family and fighting injustice.

As the Green Arrow, he protects his city with the help of former soldier John Diggle (David Ramsey), computer-science expert Felicity Smoak (Emily Bett Rickards), his vigilante-trained sister Thea Queen (Willa Holland), Deputy Mayor Quentin Lance (Paul Blackthorne), brilliant inventor Curtis Holt (Echo Kellum), and his new recruits, street-savvy Rene Ramirez (Rick Gonzalez) and meta-human Dinah Drake (Juliana Harkavy).

Oliver has finally solidified and strengthened his crime-fighting team only to have it threatened when unexpected enemies from his past return to Star City, forcing Oliver to rethink his relationship with each member of his “family”.
