With the next two Avengers films set to wrap up this phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, everyone’s wondering what’s next, and who might be showing up in future films.
Blade is a character who keeps coming up in conversations among fans, and Kevin Feige has stated that he thinks it would be cool to do something with Blade in the future.
Wesley Snipes of course brought Blade to the big screen with a trilogy of films, but those films weren’t connected to the MCU, as they were released long before the idea of a Marvel Cinematic Universe had even been conceived.
Since then Wesley Snipes has made it clear that he doesn’t want to see anyone take over the role of Blade, as he would like to continue playing the character.
Snipes recently spoke to The Hollywood Reporter and he noted that he’s open to doing “Blade 4” and he’s also open to playing another Marvel character in the MCU.
“I am very much open to all of the possibilities. If Blade 4 comes along, that is a conversation we can have. And there are other characters in the Marvel universe that, if they want to invite me to play around with, I am with that too. I think the fans have a hunger for me to revision the Blade character, so that could limit where they could place me as another character in that universe.”
As of right now Marvel hasn’t announced any official plans to use Blade, but it will certainly be interesting to see if they offer the role to Wesley Snipes once again, if that time ever comes.
