Willa Holland Says Arrow Had Big Plans For Harley Quinn

The “Suicide Squad” film is now in production and pictures of Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn continue to surface with each passing day. It’s nice to know we’re going to get Harley on the big screen but it’s also bittersweet as the “Suicude Squad” movie has prevented her from appearing on the small screen.

It could be argued that the Suicide Squad saw a surge of popularity with mainstream audiences thanks to their appearances on “Arrow” which likely made DC execs realize it would be worth it to make a movie. Since the movie was announced the Arrowverse has lost Deadshot, Deathstroke is a non-factor now and Harley Quinn was nothing more than a tease.

Willa Holland who plays Thea Queen on “Arrow” recently told Flickering Myth that there were originally big plans for Harley on the show.

“We had big plans for Harley, but I guess something came down from DC execs that told us to shut it down. I mean, we had that tease with the pigtails and the A.R.G.U.S. [prison] outfit but, we’ll never see it. We would love to Harley in Arrow but it will never happen.”

It’s a shame we’ll never see those plans put into motion.
