Frank Castle was on a warpath in “Daredevil” and he delivered his violent brand of justice to quite a few criminals throughout Hell’s Kitchen. Fans were happy to see a brutal version of The Punisher on the small screen, but on thing fans didn’t see in “Daredevil” season 2 was Frank Castle in his full Punisher costume.

However, some new photos showing Jon Bernthal in his full costume have surfaced online, and they look absolutely epic. Check them out below.

As of this writing Marvel has yet to announced a release date for “The Punisher” but the series is expected to hit Netflix before the end of 2017. But let’s hope that this series hits Netflix sooner rather than later.

It was confirmed a few months ago that The Punisher would be getting his own series on Netflix and filming is now underway.

So far Marvel has done a pretty good job when it comes to connecting their Netflix shows. Rosario Dawson has appeared in all three that have been released so far, and Mike Colter has appeared as Luke Cage in both “Jessica Jones” and his own series.

It looks like that trend is going to continue with “The Punisher” because Deborah Ann Woll, who fans know as Karen Page from “Daredevil” has been spotted on the set.

Karen Page and Frank Castle had an interesting relationship during the second season of “Daredevil” and Karen seemed to be the only person that could get through to Frank. New photos from the set show Karen and Frank having a heart to heart on a park bench.

“The Punisher” is expected to be released on Netflix in 2017.

“For me, the complexity and unpredictability of Frank Castle make him an incredibly compelling character and I couldn’t be more excited to dive into his world,” said Executive Producer and Showrunner, Steve Lightfoot said in a statement released by Marvel. “After watching Jon’s performance in ‘Marvel’s Daredevil’ I could not be more excited to be working with him to further develop and progress the story of this anti-hero in a show of his own.”

Business is really picking up for Marvel’s shows on Netflix. “Daredevil” is now 2 seasons deep and both seasons have been well received by the fans and critics as well. The first season of “Jessica Jones” also received rave reviews and “Luke Cage” will be released later this year. “Iron Fist” is also in development with Finn Jones in the lead role.

Eventually the four characters will be teaming up for “The Defenders” and Charlie Cox recently confirmed that the show will start shooting later this year. It was noted in EW’s report that it’s not yet clear if Marvel has plans to include Jon Bernthal’s Punisher in “The Defenders” series.

“We were making tapes from Ireland in the process of getting him cast in Spider-Man and then he and I made a tape for The Punisher. During this independent movie that we did in Ireland we were constantly making tapes for Marvel — just acting together.”

It’s pretty awesome to know that Bernthal and Holland teamed up to make some tapes. But as Jon Bernthal pointed out, we’re not likely to see those tapes anytime soon.

“These tapes definitely do exist,” he added, “you can call Marvel and ask for it, but that’s like breaking into Fort Knox.”

We all know how Marvel likes their secrets, so it’s likely that those tapes are somewhere very safe. All we can hope for is that maybe Marvel will be generous enough to release them someday.

“You know the first season of a television show you get to spend a lot of time meeting the characters and setting the relationships and the dynamics. You can kind of ease your way into the plot. In the second season you don’t get that luxury, so you have to really get cracking very, very quickly. One of the things the showrunners did which I thought was really smart, was they almost flipped on its head the format of last season to this season. Last season Matt Murdock and Wilson Fisk didn’t even meet until episode 9. This year Matt and Frank meet in the first episode.” Charlie Cox told IGN.

He goes on to say that Matt has absolved himself of his catholic guilt and he’s now having more fun as Daredevil. He says this time around Matt Murdock will be a little more arrogant and have a certain swagger.

We see a lot of new footage containing shots of Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle and he looks brutal and broken. The entire trailer is focused on The Punisher and the impact he’s having on Hell’s Kitchen. He’s certainly on Matt Murdock’s mind as Daredevil makes it his mission to pursue The Punisher. Eventually he finds him.

Toward the end of the trailer we get to hear a conversation between Daredevil and The Punisher. The dialogue highlights the biggest differences between the characters as Daredevil tells The Punisher: “People don’t have to die.” Punisher responds by saying: “You hit them and they get back up, I hit them and they stay down.”

We see several shots of The Punisher and Daredevil battling before The Punisher tells Matt Murdock: “You’re one bad day away from being me.”
