It’s been confirmed that Thea Queen will be returning and executive producer Marc Guggenheim recently teased that quite a few characters will be returning in the season finale as well. Now it’s been revealed that Katrina Law will be reprising her role as Nyssa al Ghul, and she will have a big role in the finale.

According to Entertainment Weekly, Katrina Law will be returning for multiple episodes, and she’s set to do battle with Lexa Doig’s Talia al Ghul in what’s being described as an “epic fight.”

It’s been a little while since we’ve seen Katrina Law on “Arrow” as she’s been busy working on “Training Day” which airs on CBS. A few months ago Law was asked about a possible Nyssa/Talia showdown and she was thrilled by the idea of possibly getting Nyssa and Talia together on the show.

“There’s always talk. Whether or not those talks will ever come to fruition is another matter, but I would love to have a reunion with Talia. I just think having the two sisters either fight side by side together or fight with each other would be epic either way.”

“Arrow” is currently on break but the show will return on April 26th with “Dangerous Liaisons.”

“Arrow” will return on Wednesday with “Second Chances” and according to the synopsis Talia will offer to help Oliver take down Kovar in exchange for something else.

TALIA AL GHUL TAKES OLIVER UNDER HER WING — In his quest to take down Kovar, Oliver (Stephen Amell) gets help from a surprising source – Talia al Ghul (guest star Lexa Doig). However, when she reveals what she wants from him in exchange, Oliver isn’t sure he can accept her help. Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) attempts to hack the NSA to help free Diggle (David Ramsey) but when her online efforts are flagged, she faces off against an unknown adversary. Meanwhile, Curtis (Echo Kellum) tells the team about a female vigilante, Tina Boland (guest star Juliana Harkavay), he uncovered online who has been wreaking havoc all over the country.

The CW has released some new photos from “Second Chances” with feature Lexa Doig as Talia al Ghul, and they can be viewed below.

Nyssa al Ghul and Ra’s al Ghul have played important roles on “Arrow” in the past, but Oliver never once mentioned to either of them that he was aware of Talia al Ghul’s existence. We all know that Oliver Queen is really good at keeping secrets and executive producer Marc Guggenheim recently revealed to EW that fans will find out why Oliver decided to keep this one.

“We’ll also be dealing very directly with the fairly obvious question, which is: Wait a second, when Oliver met Ra’s al Ghul, why didn’t he say, ‘Hey, wait a minute, I think I met your daughter back in Russia!’” Guggenheim says. “We have a very specific answer for that.”

As far as Talia’s personality goes, she will not be similar to the portrayal of Nyssa al Ghul that we’ve seen on “Arrow” in the past. As far as whether or not Talia and Nyssa will interact, Guggenheim noted that it’s something he would love to do.

“She’s definitely her own person; she’s not a Nyssa clone, by any stretch. You can definitely sense a familial resemblance. Having Ra’s al Ghul as your dad, it’s likely to forge a very specific kind of person. They’re close enough and different enough that I would love, at some point, to do a story with Nyssa and Talia.”

“Arrow” will return on January 25.

It sounds like we’ll be getting very familiar with Lexa Doig’s Talia al Ghul, and Talia playing a bigger role in the “Arrowverse” leaves the door open for a potential Nyssa and Talia reunion. Katrina Law who plays Nyssa al Ghul on “Arrow” recently spoke to Cinema Blend and she said there’s talk of a potential reunion.

“There’s always talk. Whether or not those talks will ever come to fruition is another matter, but I would love to have a reunion with Talia. And then if we could somehow do some sort of flashback with Ra’s al Ghul coming in as well… Let’s petition to make that happen.”

Nyssa al Ghul is on good terms with Team Arrow so it would be easy to bring her back. However, Katrina Law also noted that her shooting schedule for her current series “Training Day” is pretty brutal, so it remains to be seen if she would even be able to appear on the show if a Nyssa/Talia reunion is something that the writers decide to move forward with.

“Arrow” will return with “Who Are You?” on Wednesday, January 25.

Talia is set to be part of a multi-episode arc this season, but given that “Arrow” deals with both the present and the past, fans have been wondering how she will fit into the story. Stephen Amell recently spoke to TV Line, and he noted that Talia will have an impact on the flashback storyline.

“We learn about Talia before we meet her — and she is, I think, our gateway to really accelerating the flashback storyline.”

Whether that means Talia al Ghul will be appearing exclusively in the flashbacks, or in both the flashback storyline, and the present storyline is unclear at this point.

Talia al Ghul was introduced as a young girl during the first season of DC’s “Legends of Tomorrow” while Sara Lance was stuck in the past. So, it’s not hard to believe that Oliver Queen could have met a grown up Talia al Ghul during his time in Russia.

As we’ve seen before, the flashback storylines allow the writers a lot of freedom in regards to what Oliver encountered during his time away from Star City. As we’ve also seen before, Oliver Queen has absolutely no problem keeping secrets from the rest of Team Arrow, so the idea that he already has some sort of preexisting relationship with Talia al Ghul certainly isn’t far fetched. But we’ll just have to wait and see.
