“The Flash” just recently returned for season 4, and even though Barry went through a lot throughout the course of the first 3 seasons, he appears to have finally put the past behind him.
Of course there’s no telling what, or who, Barry and Team Flash might face in the future, and it’s never too early to start talking about season 5.
“The Flash” hasn’t officially been picked up for season 5, as announcements regarding new seasons are usually made in the spring. But it’s safe to say that the show will be returning to the CW next fall, and apparently the writers are already planning the story out.
Kevin Smith is no stranger to the “Arrowverse” as he’s previously directed episodes of “The Flash” and “Supergirl” in the past. Smith recently met up with executive producer Andrew Kreisberg who seems to have shared some juicy details about the plans for season 5, because he seems pretty excited about it.
Just ate at @Jerrys_Deli with @andrewkreisberg. He told me the story of NEXT season's @CW_TheFlash. I now have to stay alive one more year. pic.twitter.com/F4bxJ707fM

The ending of “The Flash” season 3 left the show in a dark place, but season 4 has been much lighter so far. Barry still has yet to come face to face with DeVoe, but with season 5 already being planned out it’s hard not to wonder who he’ll be facing next season.
