Fans didn’t really want to say goodbye to Katie Cassidy when Laurel Lance was killed off in “Arrow” season 4, but luckily the rules of the “Arrowverse” make it very easy for actors and actresses to return, and Cassidy is now once again a series regular playing Black Siren.

Black Siren is Laurel Lance’s Earth-2 counterpart, only she’s much more evil than Laurel. Last season Black Siren took a shot at Laurel’s legacy when she destroyed the Black Canary statue, but Black Siren hasn’t spent much time in the public eye.

Everyone in Star City knew who Laurel Lance was, and Stephen Amell recently teased that the public could have a very interesting reaction to Black Siren.

“She looks exactly like Laurel Lance, she is Laurel Lance,” Amell said to EW. “Laurel Lance is the most famous dead person in Star City, so eventually, at some point, if she is reintroduced into public life, how do we unpack that? I’m excited for that. That’s the dynamic I think could be interesting.”

We’ll be seeing a lot more of Black Siren in season 6, and it’s been teased that we’ll be finding out more about her backstory including her relationship with Earth-2 Oliver Queen. It should be interesting to see where her story goes, as Earth-1 Oliver Queen still hasn’t given up on the idea of Black Siren finding redemption.

“Arrow” will return on Thursday, October 12.

After a violent shipwreck, billionaire playboy Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) was missing and presumed dead for five years before being discovered alive on a remote island in the North China Sea. He returned home to Star City, bent on righting the wrongs done by his family and fighting injustice.

As the Green Arrow, he protects his city with the help of former soldier John Diggle (David Ramsey), computer-science expert Felicity Smoak (Emily Bett Rickards), his vigilante-trained sister Thea Queen (Willa Holland), Deputy Mayor Quentin Lance (Paul Blackthorne), brilliant inventor Curtis Holt (Echo Kellum), and his new recruits, street-savvy Rene Ramirez (Rick Gonzalez) and meta-human Dinah Drake (Juliana Harkavy).

Oliver has finally solidified and strengthened his crime-fighting team only to have it threatened when unexpected enemies from his past return to Star City, forcing Oliver to rethink his relationship with each member of his “family”.
