Ryan Reynolds has had a rough go of it as far as super hero movies go. Before “Deadpool” was destroying the box office, Reynolds struck out three separate times playing three separate characters in three movies that were panned by fans and critics alike. But we’re sure he’s able to sleep at night knowing that “Deadpool” just had the biggest opening weekend ever for a R rated movie.
Ryan Reynolds has been doing a lot of promotional appearances for the film and he recently stopped by “Watch What Happens Live” to speak to Andy Cohen. At one point he was asked to rate “Green Lantern” on a scale of 1 to 10. He seemed apprehensive at first and then said: “I would give it a scant (long pause) four maybe.” However it didn’t take long for Reynolds to change his tune as he started shouting: “One! It’s a one!”
Ouch, that’s harsh. But come on, he’s not wrong. Considering the movie currentlly stands at 26% on Rotten Tomatoes, it seems like a lot of people agree with his rating.
But like we said, life is good for Ryan Reynolds. “Deadpool” is breaking box office, records, people love it and a sequel has already been greenlit. Reynolds has certainly found redemption in the world of super hero movies. Now we just have to wait and see if the same thing can be said about Green Lantern in a few years.
