The Russo Brothers Say Red Hulk The Iron Spider Were Considered For Captain America: Civil War

“Captain America: Civil War” juggled quite a few of Marvel’s most iconic characters, and luckily directors Anthony and Joe Russo were able to give each character their time to shine.

Two characters that fans were talking about leading up to the film were General Thaddeus Ross, and Spider-Man. Fans were wondering if we may possibly see Ross as the Red Hulk, and if we would see Spider-Man wear his Iron Spider suit.

It turns out that we didn’t see either one of those things in the film, but Anthony and Joe Russo recently spoke to Comicbook.com and they revealed that they did consider using Red Hulk in the film.

“We had so many characters in that movie as it was. We consider everything, obviously, but with so many characters in that movie as it was to try and entertain adding another character and to get to the Red Hulk, you have to add a back story. You have to substantiate the narrative to get to that. [Thaddeus Ross], on our list of priorities, he was there sort of as the government’s agenda and not to add another complicated super powered character to the mix.”

Although the Russos didn’t use Red Hulk in “Captain America: Civil War” they aren’t ruling out using the character saying that, “anything is possible.”

They also confirmed that the Iron Spider was considered for the film as well.

“Again, that falls in that category of anything’s possible,” Joe Russo said. “We consider everything.”

So we didn’t get to see Red Hulk or the Iron Spider suit in “Civil War” but it certainly seems like there’s a chance that we could see both make appearances in the MCU in the future.

Which one would you rather see on the big screen, the Red Hulk or the Iron Spider suit? Sound off in the comments below.
