A Major Character From Oliver’s Past Is Returning For Arrow’s 100th Episode

The wait for “Arrow” season 5 is almost over as the show is set to return in less than 2 weeks.

Over the course of four seasons Oliver Queen has lost quite a few people that were close to him. He lost both his parents, his best friend Tommy, his friend and former lover Laurel, and others along the way. It’s already been established that “Arrow” season 5 will feature a lot of callbacks to season 1, and it looks like we’ll be seeing a character that has long been dead in the 100th episode. FINAL WARNING – POTENTIAL SPOILERS AHEAD.

Executive producer Marc Guggenheim recently tweeted out a picture of the cast doing a table read for the 100th episode, and the picture featured an actor who hasn’t been on “Arrow” in quite sometime. The actor is none other than Jamey Sheridan, who fans of the show know as Oliver’s father, Robert Queen.

With all of the craziness happening in the “Arrowverse” right now there are many ways that the show could bring Robert Queen back.

One would assume that the events of “Flashpoint” could bring him back, or that Oliver could encounter his father in a flashback. But Guggenheim made it clear when he posted the picture that Robert Queen’s appearance will have nothing to do with “Flashpoint” or flashbacks.

Robert killed himself in the season finale, but thanks to “The Flash” we know that Robert Queen is alive and well on Earth-2, and he’s currently fighting crime there as the Green Arrow.

Could we be seeing the Earth-2 version of Robert Queen in episode 100? It’s possible, but the show’s cast and crew have said that “Arrow” will be getting back to basics this year, and the show hasn’t really played with the multiverse in the same way that “The Flash” has.

One way or another, it should be interesting to see how the show brings Robert Queen back, and it will also be interesting to see if any other familiar faces pop up in the 100th episode.

“Arrow” will return for season 5 on Wednesday, October 5.
