The Flash is set to hit the big screen in “Justice League” next year and then he’s set to get his own solo movie in 2018. Ezra Miller will be the man that brings Barry Allen to life in both the “Justice League” movie and The Flash standalone film. But there are still many other important roles that need to be cast and it looks the director of “The Flash” has his eye on someone in particular for the female lead.

Variety is reporting that director Rick Fumiyiwa’s top choice for the female lead in the film is Kiersey Clemons. Fumiyiwa previously worked with Clemons on his film “Dope.”

At this time it’s not yet confirmed what role she’s being considered for but the report mentions that insiders are saying it’s likely Iris West.

Fans have had some reservations about Ezra Miller’s version of Barry Allen due to their love of Grant Gustin’s interpretation on the hit CW show “The Flash.” But the good news is that it doesn’t sound like fans have much to worry about.

Ezra Miller’s Flash received rave reviews from various members of the press who recently got to see him in action on the “Justice League” set in London. He was described as charismatic and witty, and the descriptions of his suit sounded intriguing.

The film will be based on a script written by previous director Seth Grahame-Smith which was adapted from a treatment written by Phil Miller and Chris Lord. “The Flash” is expected to begin filming this year.
