Everybody has been waiting to find out who will play Negan on “The Walking Dead” season 6 and now we have our answer. The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed that Jeffrey Dean Morgan will be the man that brings the big bad to life on the small screen.

Don’t get too excited though because it doesn’t sound like we’ll be seeing him anytime soon. According to their report Negan won’t be introduced until the season 6 finale of “The Walking Dead.” So it sounds like they’re setting up Negan to be a big deal in season 7.

Negan is a huge fan favorite among fans thanks in part to his barbed wire baseball bat which he’s named Lucille. One of his defining moments in the comics is when he introduces Glenn to Lucille with a crushing blow that ends Glenn’s life. However it’s tough to say if that iconic moment from the comics will make it into the show as Glenn’s status has been heavily debated over the past few weeks.

Jeffrey Dean Morgan is no stranger to comic book properties as he previous played The Comedian in Zack Snyder’s 2009 film adaptation of “Watchmen.” He’s also set to play Thomas Wayne in the upcoming Zack Snyder film “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.”

There might be a little bit of a wait involved, but Negan is definitely coming to “The Walking Dead.”
