Earlier this year fans were forced to say goodbye to Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine, and it wasn’t easy. Fans are hoping that Wolverine will return to the big screen someday, and Hugh Jackman says that he will, but he won’t be playing him.
“He’ll come back, just not with me,” he said, via Digital Spy. “Well, except on Saturday nights at my house. I dress up! When my kids are not doing their homework, I dress up and the claws come out. I just have to do that [raise an eyebrow] with the claws and it works!”
It remains to be seen who will pick up the claws next, but it seems that Hugh completely supports the idea of someone taking over the role.
“Definitely someone else will play the role [of Wolverine], it’s a great role,” he added. You know, it’s like a Bond or it’s like a Batman, those kinds of roles. Other people will play him for sure.”
Who should play Wolverine next? Sound off in the comments below.
In the near future, a weary Logan (Hugh Jackman) cares for an ailing Professor X (Patrick Stewart) at a remote outpost on the Mexican border. His plan to hide from the outside world gets upended when he meets a young mutant (Dafne Keen) who is very much like him. Logan must now protect the girl and battle the dark forces that want to capture her.
