Next year “Avengers: Infinity War” will hit theaters, and after 10 years of build up, the Avengers will finally face off against Thanos. Marvel recently released a new poster for “Infinity War” and fans couldn’t help but notice that he wasn’t wearing armor.
Co-director Joe Russo recently spoke to IGN about the Mad Titan’s look in “Infinity War” and he said that Thanos will choose to go without armor for philosophical reasons.
“[Thanos] has a more casual approach in this film, and it’s very philosophical for him,” explained Russo at San Diego Comic-Con. “It’s part of his character definition. It’s a spiritual journey for him to collect the Stones, and one with which he doesn’t need armor. Once he starts acquiring the Stones, he doesn’t need armor in the same way he did when he was a war lord. It’s a very symbolic costume.”
The hype for “Infinity War” is at an all time high right now, and Joe Russo also added that he thinks people will be surprised by the scale of the film.
[Thanos] has this incredible power — he has universe altering power if he gets his hands on the Stones — so I think people are going to be surprised at the scale in the movie.”
“Avengers: Infinity War” will arrive in theaters on May 4, 2018.
