Why Is Green Arrow Wearing His Season 4 Suit In Season 6?

“Arrow” season 6 has been an interesting ride so far. It seems that for most of the season Oliver Queen has taken a bit of a backseat to the other characters on the show, and there have been a few twists and turns along the way.

The show is slowly building towards its endgame for season 6, but it seems that the series could be taking a step back to examine something from the past.

In “Arrow” season 4, a new Green Arrow suit was introduced with no sleeves, but it was eventually done away with because filming with short sleeves in Vancouver during winter months probably isn’t all that fun.

But Stephen Amell teased the return of the suit when he posted the following photo:

So why would this suit return?

The most likely answer is that it’s being used for some sort of flashback to reference season 4.

Which leaves us to wonder why the show would want to reference what is mostly thought of as the show’s worst season.

Well, season 6 has been focusing on the redemption of Black Siren, and given her recent interactions with Quentin Lance, it looks like we may see more of her good side.

Earth-1 Laurel Lance’s death was the biggest moment from season 4, and even though Oliver has matured, he still holds on to her memory.

With Katie Cassidy once again a series regular, an Earth-1 Laurel Lance flashback sequence seems like it would be pretty appropriate for an upcoming episode.

One way or another, something has to give in terms of Black Siren’s story arc, and it looks like the show may be taking a step back before making a big leap forward in that regard.

Or perhaps Stephen Amell just wanted to try on the old suit. We’ll find out in the weeks to come.
