“Supergirl” and all of the other DC shows on the CW are on break right now, but “Supergirl,” “The Flash” and “Arrow” will all be returning next week with new episodes. There are only a few episodes left before “Supergirl” season 2 comes to and end, and it sounds like the rest of the season is going to be big.

It’s already been confirmed that Tyler Hoechlin will be reprising his role as Superman in the season finale, and many fans wondered what would draw him back to National City. Naturally one would assume that a big threat would have to come along in order for Superman to join the fight, and now a big threat is reportedly joining “Supergirl” season 2.

Bleeding Cool is reporting that Mark Gibbon has been cast as General Zod, and he has already started filming scenes for his upcoming appearance on the show. At this point it’s not known what episode he will be appearing in, or if he’ll end up sharing a scene with Superman, but an official announcement from the CW is expected to be released soon.

“Supergirl” will return next week with “Ace Reporter.”

“IZOMBIE’S” RAHUL KOHLI GUEST STARS – Lena’s (guest star Katie McGarth) ex-boyfriend, Jack Spheer (guest star Rahul Kohli), comes to National City to unveil his big breakthrough in nano-technology, which has the potential to eradicate all diseases. Lena asks Kara to attend Jack’s conference with her for support. When Kara sees Snapper (guest Star Ian Gomez) in attendance she’s inspired to tap back into her reporter skills and questions Jack on his discovery, which ultimately leads to a bigger investigation that puts everyone in danger.
