The Flash/Supergirl Musical Crossover Could Include An Original Song

It’s going to be a big year for DC shows on the CW. Shows like “Arrow,” “The Flash,” and “Legends of Tomorrow” will now be sharing a network with “Supergirl” and it sounds like we’ll be seeing a lot of crossover action.

One of the crossovers that’s already been confirmed is a crossover between “Supergirl” and “The Flash” as the two shows will be crossing over for a musical episode.

The musical episode shouldn’t be much of a problem for stars like Grant Gustin and Melissa Benoist who have both previously worked on “Glee.” Without a doubt the episode is going to be fun, and producer Greg Berlanti recently spoke IndieWire and shared some new details about what we can expect.

According to Berlanti, the ideas are coming together and there are plans to hopefully include original music in the crossover episode.

“We just finished writing the fall crossovers. And now we’re trying to figure out how to produce them. That’s probably the most challenging thing we do all year. And now we’re doing it across three shows! But next week we’ll have to start talking about clearing music. I have a few ideas for tone and style in my head but we’re just starting to talk about what that can be. I do want to try and get an original piece of music written. As we make a deal on that we’ll probably make some announcements on the original songs.”

“The Flash” will return for season 3 on Tuesday, October 4.
