Regardless of how you feel about the “Star Wars” prequels, everyone pretty much unanimously agrees that Ewan McGregor’s portrayal of Obi-Wan Kenobi is the best thing about them. McGregor stepped into the role and made it his own while still honoring the way Alec Guinness played Obi-Wan.
McGregor made a brief appearance in “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” when he recorded some dialogue for Rey’s flashback scene saying “These are your first steps.” Now rumor has it that Obi-Wan Kenobi might be appearing as a force ghost in “Episode VIII.”
An unsourced rumor coming from Kristian Haloff of Collider has a lot of people talking.
“Grain of salt: hearing that Ewan Mcgregor in talks to play Obi Force ghost in Episode 8.” Harloff tweeted.
It’s not much, but as you can see, it doesn’t take much to get people talking about “Star Wars.” As far as the saga goes, there are a few characters who look like they could use some advice from a force ghost Obi-Wan Kenobi so it certainly wouldn’t be hard to fit them in.
Ewan McGregor recently spoke to Jimmy Kimmel about recording his audio cameo for “The Force Awakens” and he seems enthusiastic about doing more “Star Wars” in the future. So there’s that as well. You can check out the clip below.
