“Avengers: Infinity War” was all the rage this past weekend thanks to San Diego International Comic Con. Marvel didn’t release the trailer officially, but it did leak online, and the one thing that can be said about it is that “Infinity War” looks like it will be Marvel’s darkest movie yet.
It certainly seems that the Avengers and the Guardians have met their match, and looks like Thanos is going to have a lot of fun bringing the fight to Earth’s Mightiest Heroes.
It’s been rumored that a few MCU fan favorites might be killed off in “Infinity War” and “Avengers 4” and during a recent interview with MTV, director Joe Russo only played up the speculation.
“I think fans should prepare for some very intense surprises in these movies. My brother [Anthony Russo] and I believe in stakes. I believe that everything has to come to an end at some point in order for it to have value. I think the audience should be prepared.”
Even though “Infinity War” does look quite dark compared to what Marvel fans have become accustomed to, Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige did assure fans that the signature elements of humor and heart can still be found in the film.
“It’ll be emotional for a lot of different reasons. As all our films try to do, we want to have the laughs, we want to have the heart, we want to have the humor, and Infinity War has all of that.”
“Avengers: Infinity War” opens in theaters on May 4, 2018.
