Marvel Studios will be expanding the MCU by adding X-Men characters who were previously unavailable for use due to Fox having the rights to the characters.

Fox’s X-Men film universe will be wrapping up, and it seems likely that Marvel Studios will be casting new actors to play their version of the X-Men.

James McAvoy has played Charles Xavier in several X-Men related films, but he recently explained to Yahoo why he’s unsure that the X-Men are a good fit for the MCU.

“I don’t know if the X-Men could go into the Marvel universe, I’m not sure. Maybe they could? But I think what’s different about the Avengers universe anyway is you’ve only got a couple of superheroes in the world. There’s a good amount, but there’s like a couple of football teams’ worth, you know what I mean? Whereas in the X-Men world you’re potentially saying there are hundreds of thousands, maybe millions of [superheroes] and the social implication of that is different.”

At this point it’s not clear how the X-Men will be integrated, how the existence of mutants will be explained in a film universe that’s been around for over a decade. But regardless of how it all plays out, most fans seem to agree that it will be exciting to see mutants and Avengers on the big screen someday.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Henry Cavill is parting was with Warner Bros. and he’s set to hang up his cape.

The studio had been hoping to get Cavill for a cameo in “Shazam!” but talks between WME reps and Warner Bros. reportedly broke down.

It’s also being said that Warner Bros. is focused on making a Supergirl movie with a teen superheroine, so it’s unlikely that they will make another Superman movie over the next few years.

“Superman is like James Bond, and after a certain run you have to look at new actors,” says a studio source.

The report also notes that Ben Affleck isn’t expected to reprise his role as Batman, and that Warner Bros. plans to slowly move their DC film universe in a different direction.

Some fans have expressed disappointment over the fact that at this point “Venom” seemingly has no connection to Spider-Man, but it looks like that could potentially change in the future.

Variety is reporting that there are people at Sony who feel “Venom” should not be R-rated and should instead be PG-13. The feeling is that a PG-13 rating will give the studio more leeway in regards to possibly featuring Spider-Man in future installments.

Spider-Man films won’t go beyond a PG-13 rating, and if “Venom” is too dark and gory it could prevent Venom from interacting with other characters in the MCU even that opportunity presents itself in the future.

Sony is reportedly open to the idea of allowing characters from their Spider-Man film universe to appear in the MCU, and it’s being said that they would also like to see cameos from Avengers in their films.

Originally Saban hoped to launch a film franchise, but it was not to be due to the box office numbers.

But earlier this year Hasbro acquired Saban Brand for over $500 million, and according to an official statement posted on licensing.org, Hasbro is planning to make a follow up to the 2017 release.

An excerpt from the statement reads as follows:

“Power Rangers’ will generate an operating profit similar to Hasbro’s other franchise brands and has a “significant opportunity for growth given where the brand had been most recently,” Goldner said. Hasbro will work with a film studio to develop a new Power Rangers movie as a follow-up to the 2017 release.”

As of right now it’s not known when a new film might go into production, but it’s worth noting that Hasbro will be releasing their first Power Rangers toys in 2019.

James Gunn has since released his own statement saying that he takes full responsibility for the situation, and the statement reads as follows:

“My words of nearly a decade ago were, at the time, totally failed and unfortunate efforts to be provocative. I have regretted them for many years since — not just because they were stupid, not at all funny, wildly insensitive, and certainly not provocative like I had hoped, but also because they don’t reflect the person I am today or have been for some time.”

“Regardless of how much time has passed, I understand and accept the business decisions taken today. Even these many years later, I take full responsibility for the way I conducted myself then. All I can do now, beyond offering my sincere and heartfelt regret, is to be the best human being I can be: accepting, understanding, committed to equality, and far more thoughtful about my public statements and my obligations to our public discourse. To everyone inside my industry and beyond, I again offer my deepest apologies. Love to all.”

James Gunn’s tweets were posted between 2008 and 2011, and he came under fire from right-wing conservatives due to his criticism of current President of the United States Donald Trump.

Gunn had been working on the script for “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3” which was planned for a 2020 release, but as of this writing Marvel Studios have yet to provide an update on who will be taking over for Gunn.

According to Deadline, Sony has officially confirmed that the sequel will indeed be called “Spider-Man: Far From Home.”

The film will feature many familiar faces from “Homecoming” and Jake Gyllenhaal is set to play Mysterio in the film.

As far as plot details go, it’s rumored that the sequel will take Spider-Man to some interesting locations around the globe, which would likely explain why the title is “Far From Home.”

There are also quite few interesting rumors making the rounds, and you can catch up on those here, just beware that the rumors could be potential spoilers.

Only minutes after “Infinity War” kicked off, Loki lost his life when he was murdered by Thanos, and everyone’s been trying to figure out if Loki’s death will stick.

Unfortunately it doesn’t sound like we’ll be seeing Loki in the MCU again, as Tom Hiddleston recently opened up about his character’s fate during an appearance at ACE Comic Con, and he noted that he was told about the scene in 2016.

“So, I’ve known about that scene for two years. I met with Marvel in May 2016, and they were actually telling me the story of Ragnarok with concept art and images. The Russos came in, and I introduced myself. So, all four of us sat down, and they said this is how Infinity War begins,” Hiddleston said via Comicbook.com.

Hiddleston then went on to confirm that Loki is indeed dead.

“When I came to shoot the scene in Infinity War, I think it’s very powerful he calls himself an Odinson, and that closes the whole journey of Loki and what he can do. It [Loki’s death] set the stakes up emotionally. It takes the stakes up dramatically. You know that Thanos is someone who’s more dangerous than anyone we’ve seen before.”

Loki was without a doubt one of the MCU’s most popular characters, so it’s sad to see him go, but he won’t soon be forgotten.

“Avengers 4” will arrive in theaters on May 3, 2019.
