There are a lot of rumors going around at the moment in regards to a “Man of Steel” sequel. Some reports are saying that the film is dead indefinitely. While other reports are saying that George Miller wants to direct a sequel to the film at some point.
Zack Snyder is cutting through all of the rumors saying that “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” basically is “Man of Steel 2.” He provided the following snippet during a recent interview with Canoe.
“I think in a way Batman V Superman is Man of Steel 2,” said Snyder, making it sound like a standalone Superman sequel is definitely not DC’s highest priority right now. “Justice League is kind of the transcendent, knights-of-the-round-table of the story. It’d be interesting to think about what a standalone Superman movie might be.”
Since Zack Snyder is basically the man steering the ship that is DC’s film universe, judging from his comments it doesn’t sound like we’ll be getting a standalone Superman movie anytime soon.
