Everyone’s talking about “Avengers: Infinity War” thanks to the big trailer leak that took place over the weekend, and fans are anxiously awaiting an official release for the trailer. Whether or not that happens remains to be seen, but fans still have a while to go before “Infinity War” arrives in theaters.
The cast and crew of the MCU will start shooting “Avengers 4” soon and directors Joe and Anthony Russo will have their work cut out for them as they continue to steer the ship for both “Infinity War” and “Avengers 4.”
Joe Russo was very busy doing interviews at San Diego International Comic Con, and he revealed some new details about “Infinity War.” During an interview with Collider, Russo was asked what fans can expect in terms of a runtime for the movie, and it sounds like it could end up being Marvel’s longest film yet.
“The current cut is over two and a half [hours]… Most of it’s a movie you could show, but there’s still a lot of work left to be done, I still have a couple of scenes that we haven’t finished from Avengers 3 that I’m shooting in the next few months with my brother, and it’s certainly gonna be a film that lives in the two and a half hour, two and a half hour-plus range.”
In regards to how long “Avengers 4” will be, Russo also added that fans should expect another lengthy film.
“It’s hard to say because we haven’t shot it yet, but I think again because these are complex movies with a lot of characters, it’s hard to imagine—now look at me I’ll look like an idiot in a couple of months when it’s two hours and twenty minutes, but it’s hard to imagine these movies being short films.”
“Avengers: Infinity War” opens in theaters on May 4, 2018.
