Arrowverse Character Name Drops Iconic Marvel Character In Four Way Crossover

Spoilers ahead for night one of the “Arrowverse” crossover “Crisis On Earth-X.”

When it comes to the fans it seems that there will always be a rivalry between DC and Marvel, but it’s a different story when it comes to the people who actually work for the comic giants.

The writers of the “Arrowverse” are never afraid to make pop culture references, and they don’t shy away from name dropping big names from the Marvel universe. A few weeks ago Felicity Smoak name dropped, The Incredible Hulk on “The Flash” and in the crossover another iconic Marvel character was name dropped.

One of the big plot points of DC’s “Legends of Tomorrow” season 3 has been the separation of Firestorm. Martin Stein wants to retire so he can spend time with his family, but Jax wants to remain a Legend.

In night one of the crossover, Harry Wells and Cisco developed a formula that would allow them to separate, but it would also leave Jax powerless.

Martin Stein then tried to alter the formula so that it would give Jax super powers and he could remain a Legend.

When Stein explained the new formula to Jax, he told him it would give him the abilities of a spider, and Jax asked if he was trying to turn him into Spider-Man.

Unfortunately Stein explained that the serum won’t give him super strength, spider sense, or the ability to shoot webs, but that it would allow him to stick to things such as walls.

Jax was less than thrilled by this news, and he walked away from Stein after he explained his plan.

It’s no big secret that Victor Garber is leaving the show at some point, so Firestorm will be separating, but what happens to Jax after remains to be seen.
