Arrow Star Manu Bennett On How He Feels About Deathstroke In The DCEU

Fans have been seeing a lot of Deathstroke lately, as the character recently returned to “Arrow” for a two episode arc that’s been receiving a lot of praise. Manu Bennett’s Slade Wilson has always been a fan favorite on “Arrow” and after being locked away for a few seasons he’s finally being featured on the show again.

Deathstroke is also set to become a big part of the DCEU where he’s played by Joe Manganiello, and during a recent panel at Heroes & Villains Fan Fest, Bennett had nothing but good things to say about Joe (via CBR).

“Joe Manganiello is gonna bring — well, he’s already brought — Deathstroke to the screen in the new Justice League. You know, Joe’s a really fantastic, fantastic, wonderful guy who’s done a lot of work in preparing himself for whatever his next role is, you know, and I know physically he’s like the right size and everything for a great Slade Wilson.”

Bennett previously mentioned that he would be interested in starring in a Deathstroke spinoff series, and he reiterated that he’s still interested in making that happen.

“You know Joe, Joe’s going to do something wonderful on the big screen with him and so, maybe when that has figured itself out, because Warner Bros are behind them both, right now they just want to put it out there in the film world. I’ve done my little run, I’ve had a good last episode so now Joe will go and do something on the big screen and maybe when there’s a bit of a window in between that they’ll say that Marc [Guggenheim] can write some more stuff, maybe even a TV series! Let’s just put that one out there.”

Whether or not Deathstroke will get his own TV series remains to be seen, but either way it’s nice to know that we’ll be seeing the character on the small screen and the big screen.
