Originally Fox planned to release three X-Men related movies this year with “Deadpool 2,” “The New Mutants,” and “X-Men: Dark Phoenix” but now it’s down to one. “Deadpool 2” is still set to be released in May, but “The New Mutants and “Dark Phoenix” have now been pushed back.
Deadline reports that the Queen biopic produced by Fox will be moving to November 2, 2018, and “X-Men: Dark Phoenix” is getting bumped to February 14, 2019.
“The New Mutants” was originally pushed back to February 22, 2019, but now the film has been pushed back to August 2, 2019.
The Fox X-Men properties are in an interesting spot right now as Disney’s acquisition of Fox is expected to be finalized at some point next year.
It’s been hinted that “Dark Phoenix” was planned to be a two part film, but it looks like we may never get clarification on that, so hopefully the movie is able to wrap up the story in one go.
Fans are anxiously awaiting the arrival of the X-Men in the MCU, but there’s still a ways to go before we actually get to see the mutants interact with our favorite MCU heroes.
