Oliver Queen and Slade Wilson put their differences aside in the “Arrow” season 5 finale when they teamed up to fight Team Prometheus, and their reunion planted a seed for an interesting story arc.
After freeing Slade Wilson from his cell in the ARGUS prison on Lian Yu, Oliver gave Slade some information that could potentially help him find his son. It’s been speculated that we’ll be seeing Slade’s son in season 6, and now it’s official.
Entertainment Weekly is reporting that “Camp” and “Lucifer” alumni Liam Hall has been cast as Slade’s son and he will appear in the two part episode which is set to focus on Deathstroke.
The character description for Joe Wilson reads as follows: “The son of one of the Green Arrow’s (Stephen Amell) greatest foes, Joe Wilson has followed in his father’s footsteps by joining the secret Australian military agency, A.S.I.S. After years of brutal combat, Joe now finds himself in a remote Kasnian prison under the alias, Kane Wolfman, fighting for his life.”
Slade Wilson is reportedly getting a lot of screen time in the first half of the new season, and the two part Deathstroke focused episode will show flashbacks from Slade’s perspective.
“Arrow” will return on Thursday, October 12.
After a violent shipwreck, billionaire playboy Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) was missing and presumed dead for five years before being discovered alive on a remote island in the North China Sea. He returned home to Star City, bent on righting the wrongs done by his family and fighting injustice.
As the Green Arrow, he protects his city with the help of former soldier John Diggle (David Ramsey), computer-science expert Felicity Smoak (Emily Bett Rickards), his vigilante-trained sister Thea Queen (Willa Holland), Deputy Mayor Quentin Lance (Paul Blackthorne), brilliant inventor Curtis Holt (Echo Kellum), and his new recruits, street-savvy Rene Ramirez (Rick Gonzalez) and meta-human Dinah Drake (Juliana Harkavy).
Oliver has finally solidified and strengthened his crime-fighting team only to have it threatened when unexpected enemies from his past return to Star City, forcing Oliver to rethink his relationship with each member of his “family”.
