Fans were introduced to Jon Bernthal’s Frank Castle in “Daredevil” season 2, and he quickly established himself as a force to be reckoned with. Castle is one of the most violent live action characters that Marvel has introduced so far, and it looks like he’s only going to be more brutal when “The Punisher” arrives on Netflix.
Bernthal recently revealed some new details about the 13 episode series to Empire, and he noted that Castle’s violent killing sprees will be the focus of the show.
“It’s the only thing that silences the demons, temporarily,” says Bernthal. “There’s going to be an attempt to move beyond the Punisher, but that’s something he can’t shake. There’s part of me that’s hungry to get back into the darkness, that’s excited to see it fall apart.”
Fans will also be getting a glimpse of Castle’s life as a soldier in the US Marine Corps, and a new photo from one of the flashbacks can be viewed below.
“The Punisher” is expected to arrive on Netflix before the end of 2017.
