Marvel and DC movies are all the rage right now, and there are plenty of actors out there who are hoping to score parts in comic book films. Some actors have managed to work on films for both Marvel and DC, such as Ryan Reynolds and Ben Affleck, and now a “Guardians of the Galaxy” star has their eyes on a DC role.
Karen Gillan plays Nebula in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and over the weekend at Florida Supercon she was asked about other roles she’d like to play outside of the MCU, and she named The Joker.
“Oh, can I say something DC?” Gillan said via Comicbook.com. “OK, I’m going to say something DC, and I’m going to play the Joker. Maybe a female Joker.”
It was then brought to her attention that Martha Wayne was The Joker in the “Flashpoint” which caused Gillan to get even more excited.
“This is my calling!” Gillan said. “Somebody make a call for me and let them know I’m available.”
It was recently announced that the first standalone Flash film in the the DCEU will be a “Flashpoint” movie which means our chances of seeing a Martha Wayne version of The Joker have just increased big time.
In the DCEU Martha Wayne is played by Lauren Cohan, but her involvement with the “Flashpoint” movie has yet to be confirmed, so at this point anything is possible.
