This year is going to be a big one for Star Wars fans, as “The Last Jedi” is set to hit theaters in December. For the past three years fans have been able to look forward to a new Star Wars film at the end of the year, but Lucasfilm and Disney will be switching things up for “Episode IX.”
The official release date for the yet to be titled “Star Wars: Episode IX” will be May 24th, 2019. “Jurassic World” director Colin Trevorrow is set to take over directing duties for the upcoming film.
Star Wars has seen a huge resurgence over the past few years, but it isn’t the only franchise that’s being revived. “Indiana Jones 5” is also in development, and it was announced today that the movie will be released on July 10, 2020.
Steven Spielberg and Harrison Ford have both been confirmed for the next installment in the Indiana Jones franchise.
“Star Wars: The Last Jedi” will hit theaters on December 15, 2017.
