The past few days have been crazy for DC shows on the CW. It was recently announced that Deathstroke will be returning to “Arrow” for the season 5 finale, and Nyssa al Ghul will also be returning to the show to do battle with her sister Talia al Ghul.

Now another big return has been announced as E! News is reporting that Tyler Hoechlin will be reprising his role as Superman on “Supergirl” for the season 2 finale. As of right now no plot details have been announced, but the addition of Superman certainly seems to hint that the season could be building up to something big for the finale.
Superman made his debut at the beginning of “Supergirl” season 2 when he joined the show for the first two episodes. However, Superman quickly left Kara to handle business on her own, but fans have been hoping to see Tyler Hoechlin return.
“We very cognizant of not wanting him to come in and steal her thunder, so this Superman that we designed was something that you really haven’t seen too much of,” showrunner Andrew Kreisberg told E! back in October. “He was really coming in as a supporting character for Kara, to be a friend and a cousin and a mentor.”
The “Supergirl” season 2 finale is set to air on May 22nd on the CW.
