Sebastian Stan Talks Bucky Possibly Becoming Captain America In The MCU

At Salt Lake City Comic Con this weekend Sebastian Stan took part in a panel where he talked about life in the MCU and more. During the panel he was asked if Marvel plans to have Bucky pick up the shield and become Captain America at some point.

“I’ll say this: They sure like to dangle a cheese in front of my nose a lot. They’re like ‘Oh yeah, that’s where you pick up the shield,’ and I’m like, ‘Yeah, I’ve heard that one before. There it is again.'” Stan said.

He went on to say that if fans want to see it happen, they should let their voices be heard.

“But I don’t know. If I could say one thing, if anyone can have anything to do with it, to make it happen, is you.” He added.

It’s been rumored that Marvel plans to let Bucky take over the Captain America mantle at some point. Stan signed a 9 movie contract with Marvel and so far he’s appeared in both Captain America films along with a post-credits scene in “Ant-Man.” Once you add “Captain America: Civil War” to the mix that makes 4 Marvel film appearances for Stan meaning he’s still contracted for 5 films, although it’s unclear if the quick scene from “Ant-Man” counts as one of the films on his contract.

Will we see Bucky become Captain America? That remains to be seen but it sounds like Marvel has big plans for Sebastian Stan.
