Arrow: Lexa Doig On If Talia al Ghul Will Appear In The Present, Why She Recruited Oliver

“Arrow” season 5 is in full swing and Talia al Ghul has been a big part of the flashback scenes. She’s taken Oliver Queen under her win and she’s helping him refine his skills and his instincts.

Although Talia al Ghul has played a big role in the flashbacks, we have yet to see her in the present. Most fans assume that we’ll see Talia at some point and CBR recently caught up with Lexa Doig and asked her straight up if she’ll be appearing in the current storyline. Doig played coy, but it sounds like she knows a little bit more than she’s letting on.

“I don’t know. I will plead the fifth. I will say that Oliver seems to think that some of her interactions from the past may leave echoes in the present day. I can’t tell you whether it’s correct or not, but he does have that theory.”

We’re slowly learning that Talia al Ghul had a big impact on Oliver’s life and she helped him form his identity as the Hood, who eventually goes on to become the Arrow and then the Green Arrow.

Talia has certainly taken an interest in Oliver and Lexa Doig says she believes it’s his savage nature that drew her to Mr. Queen.

“I think she saw potential. Oliver is somebody who is savage. He’s incredibly adept at what he wants to accomplish, but is a little directionless. He is on the side of good in those circumstances. It’s a bit murky and gray in the question of how he’s going to accomplish his goals, though. I don’t think that moral gray area is a difficult place for Talia to inhabit. She’s quite comfortable living there herself. What she saw in Oliver is the fact that he’s an incredible killer, and he’s doing it for the right reasons. She’s trying to point him in the right direction of what he really wants to accomplish.”

“Arrow” airs Wednesday nights on the CW.
