Shortly after Ben stepped down as the director, rumors began to circulate claiming that Affleck wanted out of the Batman role altogether. But luckily the rumors aren’t true and we’re going to get Ben Affleck in all his Batfleck glory when “The Batman” eventually hits theaters.

Director Matt Reeves has officially signed on to direct the film and Affleck welcomed him to the project with the following social media post:

Reeves of course let Affleck know that he’s ready and excited.

“I have loved the Batman story since I was a child,” Reeves said in a statement. “He is such an iconic and compelling character, and one that resonates with me deeply. I am incredibly honored and excited to be working with Warner Bros. to bring an epic and emotional new take on the Caped Crusader to the big screen.”

There you have it Bat-fans, we can all rest easy now because we know that we’re getting at least one more film with Batfleck after “Justice League.” Hopefully they knock it out of the park so he sticks around for a while.
