Tuesday night “The Flash” season 3 ended with a huge cliffhanger, and “Arrow” raised the stakes on Wednesday night when season 5 ended with a cliffhanger that will keep fans guessing until the show returns in the fall.
All season long Adrian Chase managed to stay 10 steps ahead of Oliver Queen, and he played a dangerous game in the season finale.
Near the end of the episode, Oliver and Chase battled on a boat after Chase had revealed that all of Lian Yu was rigged with explosives, and they would detonate if anyone killed him.
Chase also revealed that Oliver’s son William was on the boat, and with his arm wrapped around William, Chase told Oliver that he could save William by killing him, but he would lose his friends, or he could lose William and let his friends survive.
Oliver shot Chase in the knee and got William back, but then Chase shot himself in the head and the entire island exploded. Crazy right?
