Although fans were happy about the “Captain Marvel” announcement, some were left scratching their heads in regards to why Captain Marvel would get her own film before Black Widow.

There’s been a lot of talk over the past few years about whether or not the film will happen and Scarlett Johansson seems more than willing to star in the movie, but Marvel has yet to commit.

Chris Evans has worked very closely with Scarlett Johansson during his run with the MCU, and during a recent interview with Elle he said he wouldn’t be surprised to see Black Widow get her own movie in the future.

“That’s a good question. It would really just clean up, wouldn’t it? Scarlett [Johansson] is so good at everything she does. She’s played such a crucial part in the other films. She always makes her presence so felt—even when there are 50 different superheroes running around onscreen. I wouldn’t be surprised if that happens at some point in the future. I’m sure Scarlett would be open to it.”

Not only is Black Widow one of the most vital members of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, she’s also arguably the most intriguing. There’s certainly plenty of stories to tell when it comes to a Black Widow movie, now we just have to wait and see if Marvel will step up and make it happen.

However, one popular character who hasn’t starred in her own standalone film is Black Widow. She’s a key member of the Avengers, and fans have been asking for a Black Widow solo movie for years, but still, Marvel has yet to make any official announcements.

The good news is that Marvel Studios is planning to release a “Captain Marvel” movie in 2019, starring Brie Larson as the title character. So, hopefully that will open the door for Marvel to make more female fronted films.

As for Scarlett Johansson, she’s still down to step up into the lead role and give Black Widow the standalone film she deserves. Johansson recently spoke to Variety and when she was asked about a potential Black Widow she said that she would like for it to happen.

Scarlett cited Widow’s origin story as something that might make for a good film.

“I would like for it to happen under the right circumstances. I think there’s a lot of opportunity to mine that story line. She’s got a really rich origins story. There’s a lot of places you can go — you can bring it back to Russia. You could explore the Widow program. There’s all kinds of stuff that you could do with it. You could really uncover the identity of who this person is, where she comes from and where she’s part of.”

Of course she also noted that the film wouldn’t necessarily have to be an origin story and that there are other directions the movie could take.

“There are so many ways you can go. I think it would just have to be very much like its own specific thing. It would have to have its own specific vibe. It would have been totally different than any of the other standalone films. I think if the fans wanted it enough, then it would probably become a reality.”

Having Scarlett on board is one thing, but we all know that this film isn’t going to happen unless Marvel makes it happen. Scarlett confirmed that she is still talking to Marvel about a possible Black Widow standalone film, but she noted that her skin-tight catsuit wearing days will be coming to an end at some point.

“Yeah, of course. I talked to them about it often. It would have to fit in the idea of where they want to go. I’m invested in that character. Marvel is greatly invested in that character. If I did it, I’d have to do it while. I still actually wanted to wear a skin-tight catsuit. I don’t know how much longer that’s going to be.”

“Well, I think Black Widow needs a little bit of aerial support! Mackie told HitFix “I would love, in any capacity, to be a part of that. I’ve always been a huge fan of Scarlett’s, and I’ve always, since I met her, just really admired her as a person. So in whatever capacity I would be used — Falcon would fly for Black Widow.”

Fans have been asking for a Black Widow film for years now and Kevin Feige recently said that Marvel is committed to doing a Black Widow film down the road.

“We’ve announced the next nine movies, ten counting Civil War, through the end of 2019. Where we go beyond that are ongoing discussions that we’ll focus on in the next few years because we have a lot to do before then. Of the characters that you’ve just mentioned I would say certainly the one creatively and emotionally that we are most committing to doing is Black Widow.”

Fandango recently polled 1,000 fans who bought tickets to see “Captain America: Civil War” and they asked which Marvel character they want to see get their own movie. Black Widow crushed the competition as 48% of the fans voted for her. Next up was Vision with 15%, Falcon with 12%, Hawkeye with 10%, War Machine with 8% and Scarlet Witch with 7%.

It seems pretty obvious judging from the data here that fans want a Black Widow film but is it ever going to happen? Well, that remains to be seen. Marvel have a lot of diverse characters in their cinematic universe and the first female to get her own starring role will be Captain Marvel whose movie is set to hit theaters in 2018. Perhaps if that movie does well it might motivate Marvel Studios to get moving on a Black Widow standalone film.

About 70% of the robot was created using 3D printing technology and it cost $50,000 to build. So what exactly compelled Ricky to build this robot that will surely lead to the destruction of mankind one day? According to him he just really likes robots.

“When I was a child, I liked robots. Why? Because I liked watching animation. All children loved it. There were Transformers, cartoons about robots fighting each other and games about robots. After I grew up, I wanted to make one. But during this process, a lot of people would say things like, ‘Are you stupid? This takes a lot of money. Do you even know how to do it? It’s really hard’.” Ricky told The Mirror.

The robot can talk and it has very real facial expressions. The Scarlett Johansson lookalike even responds to compliments. You can check out some footage of the robot in action below.

Ricky Ma also told The Mirror that he’s hoping to find an investor to give him money to build more robots.
