Black Widow has been a key member of the Marvel Cinematic Universe since her introduction in “Iron Man 2” but she still has yet to receive her own solo film. Marvel seems to be behind the curve in regards to female fronted films, but they confirmed their first one when they announced “Captain Marvel.”

Although fans were happy about the “Captain Marvel” announcement, some were left scratching their heads in regards to why Captain Marvel would get her own film before Black Widow.

There’s been a lot of talk over the past few years about whether or not the film will happen and Scarlett Johansson seems more than willing to star in the movie, but Marvel has yet to commit.

Chris Evans has worked very closely with Scarlett Johansson during his run with the MCU, and during a recent interview with Elle he said he wouldn’t be surprised to see Black Widow get her own movie in the future.

“That’s a good question. It would really just clean up, wouldn’t it? Scarlett [Johansson] is so good at everything she does. She’s played such a crucial part in the other films. She always makes her presence so felt—even when there are 50 different superheroes running around onscreen. I wouldn’t be surprised if that happens at some point in the future. I’m sure Scarlett would be open to it.”

Not only is Black Widow one of the most vital members of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, she’s also arguably the most intriguing. There’s certainly plenty of stories to tell when it comes to a Black Widow movie, now we just have to wait and see if Marvel will step up and make it happen.

The films of the Marvel Cinematic Universe have been huge hits at the box office, and Marvel’s TV shows have also been doing quite well on Netflix. Marvel has been telling fans from the very beginning that when it comes to their live action universe “it’s all connected” but sometimes it doesn’t feel that way.

The Marvel Netflix shows have been going strong for a while now, but we have yet to see characters like Daredevil, Jessica Jones or Luke Cage appear in the film world. Actor Anthony Mackie who plays Falcon in the MCU recently spoke during a panel at Wizard World in Cleveland, and he doesn’t think a crossover would work (via ScreenGeek).

“Different universes, different worlds, different companies, different designs. Kevin Feige is very specific about how he wants the Marvel Universe to be seen in the film world. It wouldn’t work. It wouldn’t work at all.”

It’s hard to deny that the film and TV universes are drastically different when it comes to tone. The shows on Netflix are dark, violent and gritty, whereas the films are usually made to be all ages appropriate. Still, there are quite a few fans out there who would love to see characters like Daredevil interact with The Avengers.

Will it happen? Hopefully. But it doesn’t sound like it’s going to happen anytime soon.

Spider-Man is definitely all the rage right now thanks to Tom Holland’s stellar performance in “Captain America: Civil War” and some rumors about who might be playing who in “Spider-Man: Homecoming.”

Fans are eagerly awaiting the next Spider-Man film, which is set to hit theaters next year, and there’s little doubt that the movie will be worth the wait.

Over the years Spider-Man has fought quite a few of his iconic foes on the big screen, and in “Spider-Man: Homecoming” Spidey will be taking on the Vulture, played by Michael Keaton, for the first time on film.

Spider-Man vs. the Vulture is a highly anticipated on screen battle, but it’s probably going to be a while before we see any footage of the two characters fighting. In the meantime, let’s look back at Spider-Man’s 5 best big screen battles so far.

#5) The Amazing Spider-Man 2 – Green Goblin

We didn’t see much of Harry Osborn’s Green Goblin in “The Amazing Spider-Man 2” but he did show up near the end to deliver a crushing blow to Peter Parker.

After noticing Spider-Man with Gwen Stacy, Harry puts two and two together and comes to the conclusion that Spidey is Peter Parker. He then wastes no time grabbing Gwen Stacy and taking to the skies. Harry drops Gwen over a clock tower where she is saved by Peter before Green Goblin and Spidey do battle.

The battle is short and sweet, but the tension and drama are high. “The Amazing Spider-Man 2” may be arguably the most hated Spider-Man film yet, but the ending of this battle has a lasting emotional impact that will stick with you long after the scene is over.

#4) The Amazing Spider-Man – The Lizard

The Lizard might have looked like a CGI mess in “The Amazing Spider-Man” but the sequence where he faces off with Spider-Man at Midtown High definitely deserves a place on this list.

This sequence was fun and action packed, and it also featured one of Stan Lee’s best cameos. Spidey tried his best to keep the Lizard under control as he ripped Midtown High to shreds, but the Lizard proved to be a formidable foe for Spider-Man.

The scene works because Spider-Man and the Lizard both move like animals and it seems like the Lizard has an answer for every single one of Spidey’s moves.

#3) Spider-Man – Green Goblin

This might not be the flashiest fight out of all of Spider-Man’s on screen battles, but it’s certainly the most emotional.

After saving Mary Jane and a cable-car full of people, Spider-Man is carried away by the Green Goblin to an abandoned building nearby. Thinks pick up right away for Spidey as he hits the ground with a thud and then takes a pumpkin bomb to the face.

The Green Goblin then proceeds to pummel Spider-Man, but when it seems that all hope is lost, Spidey fights back and gets the upper hand.

Norman Osborn then reveals his identity to Peter, stopping him dead in his tracks before attempting to kill him with his remote controlled glider. Then at the last second Spidey moves out of the way and Green Goblin is killed by his own glider in an amazing call back to ASM #122.

#2) Captain America: Civil War – Airport Battle

The airport battle scene in “Captain America: Civil War” was the first time we saw Tom Holland in costume, and it was the first time we got to see his Spider-Man in action. Tom Holland definitely got lucky with this one, because he was involved in one epic clash during his first on screen battle as Spider-Man.

It could be argued that this is the best battle scene out of any MCU film so far. This fight scene seemed impossible to pull off due to all of the characters involved, but it flows very nicely and everyone gets their time to shine.

Spider-Man is no exception, and this scene offered a nice glimpse of what we can expect from Tom Holland’s Spider-Man. Luckily the glimpse was more than enough to sell fans on Holland.

#1) Spider-Man 2 – Train Battle

You just can’t argue with the fact that Sam Raimi did an excellent job with this scene. It’s one of the most exciting scenes in any of the Spider-Man movies so far, and dare I say it, any comic book movie so far.

Before the age of the MCU, the DCEU, and everything in between, “Spider-Man 2” was highly regarded as one of the best superhero movies of all time. Many still hold it in that same regard today and this scene is one of the things that helped propel the film to greatness.

A speeding train proved to be the perfect backdrop for this brawl between Spider-Man an Doc Ock and it really helped to establish Alfred Molina’s Doc Ock as a dangerous villain.

As this scene escalates the deck just gets continuously stacked against Spider-Man, and no matter how many times he saves the day, Doc Ock is right there to knock him back down.

It’s not entirely unlikely that this scene will be topped in a future Spider-Man film someday, but as of now it has yet to be outdone.
