According to the synopsis for the upcoming mid-season finale, Barry will turn to his friend Jay Garrick for a little help, and he’ll also find out some new information about Wally West.

BARRY SEEKS HELP FROM JAY GARRICK — With Alchemy and Savitar still looming threats, Barry (Grant Gustin) is unable to focus on the Christmas holiday, and especially his relationship with Iris (Candice Patton). Determined to stop Savitar, Barry goes to Earth-3 to get advice from Jay Garrick (guest star John Wesley Shipp). Wally (Keiynan Lonsdale) wants to help Barry fight Savitar and reveals that he’s been training with H.R. (Tom Cavanagh), which doesn’t go over well with Barry. As Cisco (Carlos Valdes) faces his first Christmas without his brother Dante (guest star Nicholas Gonzalez), old wounds are reopened. Rachel Talalay directed the episode with story by Aaron Helbing & Todd Helbing and teleplay by Lauren Certo.

“The Flash” airs Tuesdays on the CW.

Barry made a big mistake when he went back in time and prevented the Reverse-Flash from killing his mother. In the coming weeks Barry will have to deal with the consequences of his actions, and the impact that they’ve had on the people that he cares about the most.

The CW has released a new trailer for “The Flash” titled “Big Mistake” and it shows Barry Allen having a heart to heart with Jay Garrick, and it also shows the return of Harry Wells from Earth-2. Check it out below.

The CW has also released the preview for next week’s episode titled “Paradox” which will feature the arrival of Tom Felton.

“Barry (Grant Gustin) realizes the effects from Flashpoint are much greater than he thought. Meanwhile, Barry meets new co-worker Julian Albert (Tom Felton) and is surprised by Julian’s immediate disdain for Barry.”

Unfortunately for Cosnett, Eddie met his untimely death when he sacrificed himself in the season finale by shooting himself so that he could erase the Reverse-Flash from existence. Fans have been waiting for Cosnett to return in possibly another role on the show, but so far it hasn’t happened yet.

Rick was on hand for “The Flash” panel at Heroes and Villains Fan Fest over the weekend, and he revealed that original plans called for him to play a completely different character.

During the panel Rick revealed that the powers that be had thought he was going to play Jay Garrick on the show, but plans changed.

It remains to be seen how that would have worked, and if he would have actually been Jay Garrick, or if a Hunter Zolomon/Zoom like twist would have been involved.

In any case, Rick has yet to return to the show, but Jay Garrick is alive and well. During the season 2 finale it was revealed that Henry Allen’s Earth-3 doppelganger goes by the name of Jay Garrick, and he will be appearing in season 3.

“The Flash” will return for season 3 on Tuesday, October 4.

“The Flash” just wrapped up production on season 2, but there’s still plenty of story to go and there will surely be a few more twists and turns along the way. Many fans believe that the Man in the Iron Mask could end up being the real Jay Garrick. Teddy Sears who plays Hunter Zolomon recently found out who’s under the mask and he told EW the revelation will be satisfying.

“All has been revealed to me,” Sears said. “I don’t even know what to say because it’s such a fun thing to me being nice and vague and untouched. I can promise that it will be revealed and it will be quite satisfying. ”

BARRY IS READY TO FACE ZOOM; HUNTER ZOLOMAN’S STORY IS REVEALED – Equipped with the tachyon device, Barry (Grant Gustin) believes he is fast enough to stop Zoom (guest star Teddy Sears) and wants to open the breaches to catch him. Harry (Tom Cavanagh) strongly advises against that plan but after Barry convinces him, Harry reveals that Cisco (Carlos Valdes) has the power to re-open the breach. Meanwhile, Hunter Zoloman’s (Teddy Sears) painful story on Earth-2 is revealed.
