The clip shows The Winter Solider being attacked by Tony Stark who manages to stun him with one of his gauntlets. Bucky quickly fights back and tosses Stark to the side, but then Sharon Carter follows up by attacking. Black Widow then backs her up and Bucky throws Natasha on to a table then starts choking her with his bionic arm before he gets kicked again. “In a way it’s Cap 3 but for me it’s like my little Iron Man 4 and then it’s back to the thing we all recognize. Everything pulls over to the side of the road when the thunder of an Avengers thing comes through because that’s how it is until it changes. If it changes.” Robert Downey Jr. told USA Today.

The film features a lot of heroes, but at the heart of it “Civil War” will still be a Captain America story. However, it’s not hard to see why RDJ would consider it an Iron Man story as well. Tony Stark will play a very important role in the conflict that drives the film.

Stark for all intents and purposes will be Captain America’s main adversary this time around. However Robert Downey Jr. was quick to point out that he didn’t go full villain for the role.

“If we’re going to go there, then we’ve got to save it for my swan song. I would still like to keep a general audience and mildly be in their favor somehow.” Downey Jr. added.

From there we get some action sequences which include a scene featuring Bucky squaring off one on one with Tony Stark. We see some more footage of the two opposite sides as the battle lines are clearly established. Throughout the trailer a chant goes on in the background, “United we stand. Divided we fall.” it says.

The footage also shows two characters were noticeably absent from the first trailer. When the teams are shown we see Ant-Man standing strong with #TeamCap and Vision floating behind #TeamIronMan. However there’s still no sign of Spider-Man so it looks like Marvel is saving the big reveal for another trailer down the road.

According to Stan Lee, he based Tony Stark on real life icon Howard Hughes. Stan described Howard as “one of the most colorful men of our time. He was an inventor, an adventurer, a multi-billionaire, a ladies’ man and finally a nutcase.” Lucky for Tony he got to inherit all of Howard’s coolest traits and none of his crazy ones.
