Either Anthony Mackie slipped up and confirmed Mark Ruffalo for “Captain America: Civil War” or he got a little confused. Mackie recently spoke to BBC Radio 1 and during the interview he began naming his cast mates from the film. Which wasn’t really that big of a deal until he mentioned Mark Ruffalo’s name.

Here’s what he had to say when talking about why “Captain America: Civil War” is the best Marvel movie yet.

“It’s really, really good. Because it’s more of an acting movie than an action movie, I feel like the story is very concise and interesting, and you get to see Robert Downey Jr and Chris Evans and Scarlett Johannson and Mark Ruffalo and everybody just do really, really good acting.” Mackie said.

Like we said, either he slipped up and confirmed Ruffalo for the film, or he’s a little confused. It’s kind of hard to tell. If Ruffalo actually is in the movie then it would mean Marvel has done one heck of a job at keeping it a secret. But for now try not to take Mackie’s comments too seriously because he could have very easily made a mistake.

You can check out the full interview here. Mackie name drops Ruffalo around the 17:30 mark.

It was recently confirmed that Mark Ruffalo will reprise his role as the Hulk in “Thor: Ragnarok.” Among other things Ruffalo has said that he would like to see Hulk and Thor duke it out in the film but Ruffalo said something quite intriguing during a recent interview with USA Today. He admitted that he’s angling to get Hulk in space so that we can see a scene that features both Bruch Banner and the Hulk.

“When you get off of the planet Earth, you can start playing with that stuff a little bit,” he explained. “I’m angling for it. I don’t know if it’ll happen now, but at some point, I’d like to see it happen. When I was doing Age of Ultron — doing the Scarlet Witch acid trip scenes — it really took me a long time to figure out what the Hulk would be afraid of. And then I realized, it was Banner. That relationship is what we’re all so into, but we’ve never seen them in the same scene together — you’re either one or the other, or somewhere in between. But I always imagined that that could be pretty exciting if we could pull it off. In the Marvel Universe, there is some precedence for it. I remember as a kid, seeing a few of the comics that’d have this multidimensional thing, so there’s a lot of ways to do it … if we could find the right context to use it.”

Sounds pretty crazy right? Of course in theory fans would also assume moving Hulk into space would bring Marvel one step closer to making a Planet Hulk film. But unfortunately, Ruffalo doesn’t seem very optimistic about Hulk’s future as a leading character.

“Actually, it feels even further away,” Ruffalo said “It’s not Marvel’s property, it’s Universal’s property. I don’t know. It seems really problematic. There’s only so much that’s in my power and I’m not going to agonize over what is not in my power.”

Mark Ruffalo will return to the big screen as the Hulk when “Thor: Ragnarok” hits theaters on July 28, 2017.

He talked about why a standalone Hulk film featuring Mark Ruffalo hasn’t happened yet and attributed it to rights issues between Marvel and Universal.

On Why There Hasn’t Been A Hulk Solo Movie In Several Years:

“Honestly I think it’s a legal thing. I think it’s because there’s other studio rights and this and that. It’s difficult. Hulk movies are very difficult because it isn’t a classic superhero story. It is more of a werewolf story, and finding a way to thread both of those makes if difficult. But I think it has more to do with the boring issues… because they love the Hulk and they love Mark as much as I do.”

On Why A Planet Hulk Film Might Not Work:

“It [Planet Hulk] absolutely could be put onscreen. I don’t know if it should. I think part of what makes the Hulk great is the world around him and the Banner of it. And it would be mad expensive as well. I think if they were going to do a Hulk movie, they’d want to keep it more grounded.”

When Marvel released their movie schedule for the next few years not too long ago many fans were disappointed to see that there weren’t any plans for a solo movie featuring The Hulk. Sure, he gets his due in The Avengers films but Marvel seems scared to give him his own film.

Mark Ruffalo recently spoke to IGN and expressed interest in bringing the Planet Hulk storyline to the big screen. Here’s an excerpt from the interview.

Mark Ruffalo: “I think there’s a lot of places to go with him [Hulk].”

Scarlett Johansson: “Like where?”

IGN: “Space?”

Ruffalo: “Well he’s going to space. Yeah, I mean there’s some talk of maybe Planet Hulk.”

IGN: “Would you like to see that?”

Ruffalo: “I’d be completely interested in entertaining that.”

Keep in mind though it’s the actor playing Hulk who’s trying to drum up interest and not Marvel themselves. There are quite a few people out there that would like to see this happen and the more people talk about it, the better chance it has of happening. With that being said, let’s talk about it. Hit Marvel up on social media, let them know what you want to see. If you want to see a Planet Hulk movie, let the powers that be know that you want it to be made.
