Oliver Queen has been searching for Lundgren’s character, Konstantin Kovar, all season long in the flashbacks. The CW has released the official synopsis for “Vigilante” and it reveals that Oliver will finally come face to face with Kovar. Check it out below.

DOLPH LUNDGREN “ROCKY” GUEST STARS – When the bodies of two criminals are dropped at SCPD, Oliver (Stephen Amell) realizes there is a new Vigilante in Star City. The team is split about whether they should stop someone who is helping keep the city safe. Diggle (David Ramsey) is frustrated with his new situation and Thea (Willa Holland) fights for Lance (Paul Blackthorne) who confesses a shocking secret. Meanwhile, in the flashbacks, Oliver finally sits down with Konstantin Kovar (guest star Dolph Lundgren).

During the TCA press tour it was revealed that Dolph Lundgren will be one of the big bads in the Russian flashbacks as he’ll be playing the head of the Bratva during “Arrow” season 5.

“Arrow” season 5 will also be the end of the flashback sequences according to executive producer Marc Guggenheim.

“We always said that Oliver had a five-year journey when he was marooned on the [island],” Guggenheim told the press via EW. “This year, Oliver spends his time in the flashbacks in Russia. We know from various seeds we planted back in the pilot that he knows how to speak Russian, he became a Bratva captain. Sort of the flashback story in the first half of the year is going to involve Oliver’s introduction into the Bratva.”

Fans who have been watching the show from the beginning know that things kicked off with Oliver returning home after five years on Lian-Yu.

Given that the flashbacks are ending with season 5 it should be interesting to see what happens in the events leading up to Oliver’s return to Star City.

“Arrow” will return for season 5 on Wednesday, October 5th.
