The films of the Marvel Cinematic Universe have been huge hits at the box office, and Marvel’s TV shows have also been doing quite well on Netflix. Marvel has been telling fans from the very beginning that when it comes to their live action universe “it’s all connected” but sometimes it doesn’t feel that way.

The Marvel Netflix shows have been going strong for a while now, but we have yet to see characters like Daredevil, Jessica Jones or Luke Cage appear in the film world. Actor Anthony Mackie who plays Falcon in the MCU recently spoke during a panel at Wizard World in Cleveland, and he doesn’t think a crossover would work (via ScreenGeek).

“Different universes, different worlds, different companies, different designs. Kevin Feige is very specific about how he wants the Marvel Universe to be seen in the film world. It wouldn’t work. It wouldn’t work at all.”

It’s hard to deny that the film and TV universes are drastically different when it comes to tone. The shows on Netflix are dark, violent and gritty, whereas the films are usually made to be all ages appropriate. Still, there are quite a few fans out there who would love to see characters like Daredevil interact with The Avengers.

Will it happen? Hopefully. But it doesn’t sound like it’s going to happen anytime soon.

Black Widow is a lead Avenger in the Avengers films but despite her status as one of the main characters, she still hasn’t received her own standalone film. There’s a lot of talk about whether or not it’s going to happen, but if it does happen, Anthony Mackie wants in.

“Well, I think Black Widow needs a little bit of aerial support! Mackie told HitFix “I would love, in any capacity, to be a part of that. I’ve always been a huge fan of Scarlett’s, and I’ve always, since I met her, just really admired her as a person. So in whatever capacity I would be used — Falcon would fly for Black Widow.”

Fans have been asking for a Black Widow film for years now and Kevin Feige recently said that Marvel is committed to doing a Black Widow film down the road.

“We’ve announced the next nine movies, ten counting Civil War, through the end of 2019. Where we go beyond that are ongoing discussions that we’ll focus on in the next few years because we have a lot to do before then. Of the characters that you’ve just mentioned I would say certainly the one creatively and emotionally that we are most committing to doing is Black Widow.”

You can catch Anthony Mackie and Scarlett Johansson in “Captain America: Civil War” which is currently in theaters now.

Either Anthony Mackie slipped up and confirmed Mark Ruffalo for “Captain America: Civil War” or he got a little confused. Mackie recently spoke to BBC Radio 1 and during the interview he began naming his cast mates from the film. Which wasn’t really that big of a deal until he mentioned Mark Ruffalo’s name.

Here’s what he had to say when talking about why “Captain America: Civil War” is the best Marvel movie yet.

“It’s really, really good. Because it’s more of an acting movie than an action movie, I feel like the story is very concise and interesting, and you get to see Robert Downey Jr and Chris Evans and Scarlett Johannson and Mark Ruffalo and everybody just do really, really good acting.” Mackie said.

Like we said, either he slipped up and confirmed Ruffalo for the film, or he’s a little confused. It’s kind of hard to tell. If Ruffalo actually is in the movie then it would mean Marvel has done one heck of a job at keeping it a secret. But for now try not to take Mackie’s comments too seriously because he could have very easily made a mistake.

You can check out the full interview here. Mackie name drops Ruffalo around the 17:30 mark.

Marvel Studios has come a long with since launching their cinematic universe with “Iron Man” in 2008. Over the past 8 years Marvel Studios have created 12 films with another 11 on the way. The next film set to be released from the MCU is “Captain America: Civil War” and Anthony Mackie thinks it’s the best Marvel film yet.

Mackie recently spoke to IGN about his new film Triple 9 but that wasn’t all he talked about. He also gave his thoughts on where “Captain America: Civil War” ranks among the Marvel films that have been released so far and you can see what he had to say below.

“It’ll be very different because… I feel the best Marvel movies thus far have been Winter Soldier and Iron Man” he explained. “And I think this movie far surpasses those two movies. I think the Russo brothers and Marvel have done a very good job with upping the ante every movie. And this one definitely does not fail to live up to that.” Mackie said.

We’ll all be able to see if the movie lives up to the hype when it hits theaters on May 6, 2016.
