When Damien Darhk killed Laurel Lance last season fans were pissed. The Black Canary died at the hands of Mr. Darhk which infuriated people all over the world who were hoping to see the Green Arrow and Black Canary live happily ever after by the time “Arrow” comes to an end.
Laurel Lance may be gone, but the Black Canary isn’t. During a recent episode of “Arrow” the team traveled to Hub City to recruit Dinah Drake, and she’s become a welcome addition to the team.
So far she seems to have a great dynamic with Oliver Queen. Most people just sit back and let Oliver brood when he needs to brood, but instead Dinah calls him out on his sadness and it’s refreshing.
Fans are now wondering if we’ll be seeing some romantic interaction between Oliver and Dinah and Stephen Amell recently told EW that it could happen.
“The idea that Oliver would end up with the Black Canary being Katie Cassidy or any new iteration thereof? To me, it could happen, it could not, but it’s certainly not destined to happen or predesigned to happen.”
“Arrow” has taken certain elements of the Green Arrow mythos and adapted them for TV, but obviously the show does not follow the comic book canon. Amell also commented on the “Arrow” fan base saying that the show tries to create a happy medium for people who love the show and people who love the comics.
“There have been feuding factions in the fan base — people that call upon the comics and people that have lived in the universe of the show,” Amell says. “I would say that we try to find a happy medium for both, try to live in the universe that the show has created where characters that weren’t a part of the Green Arrow mythos have become completely indispensable.”
“Arrow” will return tonight with “Fighting Fire With Fire.”
