If you’ve been hoping to see more live action adaptations of stories from the comic series “Sin City” then you’re in luck. So far two films have been made based on the property, but fans are going to be seeing a lot more of the franchise in the future, because it’s coming to the small screen.
Deadline is reporting that TWC/Dimension is developing a television reboot of “Sin City” that will reportedly follow the comic series closely. The series is set to be written by Glen Mazzara who previously worked as a showrunner on “The Shield” and “The Walking Dead.”
“Underworld” director Len Wiseman is attached as to direct and Stephen L’Heureux, Miller, Mazzara, Wiseman and Bob & Harvey Weinstein are all set to produce.
At this point in time networks are said to be circling the series but no potential names have surfaced.
The first “Sin City” film was released in 2005 and it managed to earn $158 million worldwide on a budget of $40 million. The sequel, “Sin City: A Dame To Kill For” followed 9 years later in 2014 and only managed to make $39 million worldwide on a budget that was estimated to be $65 million.
The goal of the television series is to be a “far departure” from the films and it will reportedly introduce original characters and timelines within the “Sin City” universe.
