A few days ago Stephen Amell announced that Deathstroke would be returning to “Arrow” and he tagged Manu Bennett in his tweet. Executive producer Marc Guggenheim then followed up on the original post with a tweet of his own announcing Manu Bennett’s return to the series, but then things got weird.

Manu Bennett responded to Stephen Amell’s tweet by saying “WTF” and then he posted another tweet saying that he’s “not going back for Arrow.” Some fans presumed that his tweet about “Arrow” could be a play on words, but the situation only seems to be getting more and more confusing as time goes on.
Bennett recently posted a photo of Deathstroke on the “Arrow” set in Vancouver saying that it’s not him under the mask because he’s filming “The Shannara Chronicles.”
Enough b.s about d.s!!! FACT: Deathstroke #Arrow are currently filming in Vancouver IS NOT ME. I am in Auckland filming #shannarachronicles pic.twitter.com/kkVBOdXlSL

This whole thing has just gotten really weird, and either Manu Bennett is trolling the fans, or Stephen Amell and Marc Guggenheim are trolling Manu Bennett. Either way, it’s been confirmed that Deathstroke will be returning for the “Arrow” season 5 finale, it’s just tough to tell if we’ll be seeing Manu Bennett’s face at this point.
“Arrow” can easily bring back Deathstroke without using Manu Bennett as long as they don’t take off his mask, such as we saw in the 100th episode. However, fans have been hoping to see Bennett return for quite some time now, so hopefully this is all just one big gag. Stay tuned for updates as the story develops.
“Arrow” will return with “Dangerous Liaisons” on Wednesday, April 26th.
