The Legends of DC’s “Legends of Tomorrow” have been traveling through time for a season and a half now, and they’ve managed to interject themselves into some interesting moments in history. Throughout their travels the Legends have met famous historical figures such as Albert Einstein, Al Capone and more, and when the show returns the team will be meeting Star Wars creator George Lucas.
Executive Producer Mark Guggenheim recently spoke to EW, and he revealed that George Lucas will be the focus of a major time aberration which could potentially have a huge impact on the team.
“Because of circumstances, the time aberration in episode 209 is George Lucas quits film school,” Guggenheim explained. “As a result, he never makes Star Wars or Raiders of the Lost Ark. As a result, Ray, who became an engineer because of Star Wars, and Nate, who became a historian because of Raiders, slowly start to lose their brilliance, because those things that inspired them to become who they are didn’t exist.”
It’s also been confirmed that the young George Lucas will be played by Matt Angel.
The “Arrowverse” has been known to use quite a few pop culture references, but this whole George Lucas storyline sounds like it’s going to be next level crazy.
“We were watching a cut of it, and I said to Greg [Berlanti] that 209 is either going to be the episode where we’ll say that the show found a new gear in terms of how zany it can be, or it’s the episode that’s going to get us all fired,” Guggenheim added.
DC’s “Legends of Tomorrow” will return with new episodes in January.
