Wally West joined “The Flash” during season 2, and his character evolved in a big way when he gained powers in season 3. Wally was an integral part of the team throughout most of season 3, but he hasn’t had much of a presence in season 4 so far.
The powers that be have explained that having two speedsters on the show is difficult, both from a storytelling perspective, and a financial perspective, but it looks like Wally West could be heading elsewhere.
CW president Mark Pedowitz recently insinuated that we’ll be seeing Wally West on the Waverider, and now Brandon Routh who plays Ray Palmer on the show is throwing even more fuel on the fire.
According to CBR, Brandon Routh recently said at the DC in DC event that Wally will be joining the team “for a little bit” and he seems excited about the new addition.
“I think that goes with the talent that Keiynan brings to his role and to this newly forming — is it forming? — energy of him coming in to be a part of our show.”
At this point it’s not known when Wally West will be joining the team, but it’s likely that it will be sooner than later.
With Firestorm no longer part of the team, and John Constantine and Citizen Cold only joining the team temporarily, the Legends need all the help they can get.
DC’s “Legends of Tomorrow” will return in February.
