She isn’t a damsel, she isn’t a Strong Female Character, she isn’t a princess. She’s nuts. She’s flawed. But she’s also strong and capable. And if you follow her arc in the comics, she is on a redemption arc from being a battered girlfriend to being a hero. There’s something appealing in that thought that, no matter how far your life has gone off the rails, you can recover and make something of yourself. Plus, in the DCEU, she’s one of the few, if not the only, fun characters.
