Any doubt as to whether The Punisher would be appearing in some sort of Marvel property on Netflix can be put to rest. Marvel officially announced today that Jon Bernthal, who’s best know for playing Shane in “The Walking Dead” will be playing Frank Castle in “Daredevil” season 2.
“Jon Bernthal brings an unmatched intensity to every role he takes on, with a potent blend of power, motivation and vulnerability that will connect with audiences. Castle’s appearance will bring dramatic changes to the world of Matt Murdock and nothing will be the same.” Jeph Loeb told Marvel.com.
It will be interesting to see what the relationship between Murdock and Castle is like on the show. Will they be friends, enemies or something in between?
Season 2 of “Daredevil” is set to start filming next month. Other characters rumored to appear in the next season are Elektra, Bullseye and there have even been rumblings that Spider-Man foe Mysterio might be in the mix.
