It’s Official, The Flash & Supergirl Crossover Is Definitely Happening

Rumors have been going around for months saying that there were plans for “The Flash” to crossover with an episode of “Supergirl.” Now they are rumors no more as DC has confirmed that the crossover episode will definitely happen. Details on the crossover are slim at this point, but Grant Gustin’s Barry Allen will be heading to National City for the March 28th episode of “Supergirl.”

Producers Greg Berlanti and Andrew Kreisberg commented on the crossover episode via the official press release:

“We are so incredibly excited to announce something that we have dreamed of happening since we starting making Supergirl—The Flash and Supergirl are teaming up!,” said The Flashand Supergirl Executive Producers Greg Berlanti and Andrew Kreisberg.  “We want to thank Grant Gustin for making the time to come visit (on top of his already immense workload) and all of the folks at CBS, The CW, Warner Bros. and DC for working this out. And finally thanks to the fans and journalists who have kept asking for this to happen. It is our pleasure and hope to create an episode worthy of everyone’s enthusiasm and support.”

Grant Gustin also revealed on Instagram that the episode’s title will be “Worlds Finest.”

The rest of the press release hypes up the fact that this isn’t the first time that DC properties have crossed over on television. Last year Matt Ryan’s John Constantine made an appearance on “Arrow” after his show on NBC was cancelled. With crossovers between “Arrow” and “The Flash” becoming a yearly event and “Legends of Tomorrow” opening up a world of possibilities, hopefully this means “Supergirl” will be in play for more crossovers in the future.
