Flashpoint Does Not Last All Season Long According To Grant Gustin

“The Flash” is set to return for season 3 on the CW in October and the season premiere will be titled “Flashpoint.” A trailer for the new season was recently released and it gave fans a glimpse at the “Flashpoint” world that Barry created when he saved his mother in the season 2 finale, and it looks like we’re in for a wild ride.

The world of “Flashpoint” will be unlike anything we’ve ever seen on the show before and although it will have a huge impact on season 3, Grant Gustin recently confirmed that “Flashpoint” won’t last for the entire season.

“There will be ramifications all season long from ‘Flashpoint,” Gusting told Kevin Smith who was interviewing him for IMDB “I think we can state… ‘Flashpoint’ does not last all season long,” he added. “But there are permanent ramifications.”

Grant Gustin also went into detail about what motived Barry to change the timeline after his final battle with Zoom.

“People were like, ‘Why did he do that?’ And I think that he wasn’t going to do that, but I think that sitting on that porch, having just defeated Zoom, Iris says to Barry what he’s always wanted to hear, and he feels empty inside. That was the moment… As selfish as it was that Barry wanted his parents, I think it’s more about ‘these two speedsters took away their life because of me and they deserve to have a chance at life. I can’t do this, I need to give them that chance.'”

“The Flash” will return for season 3 on the CW on October 4th.
